Scenario

You may get the following error message when you print an engagement binder to FileCabinet CS or to a PDF.
A new guard page for the stack cannot be created.

Cause

The likely cause of this error message is when the system has run out of memory due to a problem with an Excel spreadsheet in the engagement binder.

Solution

  1. Open an Excel spreadsheet in the engagement binder individually.
  2. Select
    View
    , then
    Page Break View
    .
  3. If this spreadsheet has a large number of extra blank pages, delete them.
    note
    The spreadsheet could have hundreds of extra blank pages, which can cause problems when you print the engagement binder.
  4. Close the Excel spreadsheet and repeat these steps for any other Excel spreadsheets in the binder.
  5. Print the engagement binder.
  6. If you still can't print the binder, open each document in the binder and check it works correctly.
tip
If you can't open a document properly, it could be a sign that the document is corrupted. You'll need to remove any corrupted documents from the binder before you can print it.
